Intraoral assessment findings reveal a coated tongue, generalized brown extrinsic stains covering most of the lingual surfaces, generalized moderate gingivitis, and light interproximal calculus. Periodontal probe readings and radiographs reveal healthy teeth and periodontium with no bone loss. Recently separated from his long-time girlfriend, Mr. Jones is concerned about his self-image and wonders if he has "bad breath."
