Researchers were interested to study effects of texting as means of intervention of overconsumption of alcohol among university students. The study included inviting participants to record the events and circumstances surrounding alcohol consumption over a three-month time period. After data analysis indicated certain patterns of consumption, a strategy was developed as a means of intervention for preventing overconsumption through targeted text messaging.
