Gonochorism
A reproductive system in some animals in which individuals are distinctly male or female, with no change in sex occurring throughout their life span.
Transsexuality
A phenomenon in which a person is intent to live through actions, dress, hormone therapy, and/or surgery as a gender other than that assigned at birth. Most (but not all) transsexuals engage in some process of altering either primary or secondary sexual characteristics through hormone treatment or surgery or both.
