Perfusion

The process of delivering blood to a capillary bed in the biological tissue.

Ventilation

The process of moving air in and out of the lungs to facilitate breathing and gas exchange.

Cystic Fibrosis

A genetic disorder that affects mostly the lungs, but also the pancreas, liver, kidneys, and intestine, leading to severe respiratory and digestive problems.

Pitting Edema

Swelling, usually in the extremities, where an indentation remains after pressure is applied to the swollen area.
