We've seen in this chapter that there are a variety of ways to exert control in a society. In some ways, it appears that those societies that use a multitude of responses are more stable than those that only seem to have a single way of handling controversy. Consider the various types of cultural control you have learned and present at least three cases where some of the less traditional methods (such as the Talking Circle, etc.) might be used productively in our own society.​

Definitions:

Specific Gravity

The ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a reference substance; typically, for liquids, water is used as the reference.

Polycystic Kidney Disease

A genetic disorder characterized by the growth of numerous cysts in the kidneys, which can lead to impaired kidney function and kidney failure.

Anuria

The absence of urine production.

Hematuria

The presence of blood in the urine.
