We've seen in this chapter that there are a variety of ways to exert control in a society. In some ways, it appears that those societies that use a multitude of responses are more stable than those that only seem to have a single way of handling controversy. Consider the various types of cultural control you have learned and present at least three cases where some of the less traditional methods (such as the Talking Circle, etc.) might be used productively in our own society.​
