Breathing

Breathing is the involuntary process of inhalation and exhalation, whereby air is drawn into the lungs to facilitate oxygen exchange with the blood and the removal of carbon dioxide.

Olfactory Epithelium

A specialized epithelial tissue inside the nasal cavity that is involved in the sense of smell.

Olfactory Cortex

Termination of the olfactory tract in the cerebral cortex within the lateral fissure of the cerebrum.

Olfactory Bulb

Ganglion-like enlargement at the rostral end of the olfactory tract that lies over the cribriform plate; receives the olfactory nerves from the nasal cavity.
