Compare the volume of the Sun with the volume of interstellar space it dominates. Is the occupied percentage large or small? Consider the volume around the Sun to be a sphere whose radius is equal to the distance to the nearest star, which is equal to 5 light-years.(Note: the radius of the Sun is 7 *105 km, and 1 light-year = 9.5 * 1012 km.)
Unconditioned Stimulus
In classical conditioning, an unconditioned stimulus is anything that naturally and automatically triggers a response without any learning needed.
Stimulus Discrimination
The tendency to respond differently to two or more similar stimuli; in classical conditioning, it occurs when a stimulus similar to the CS fails to evoke the CR.
Stimulus Generalization
The tendency for the conditioned stimulus to evoke similar responses after the response has been conditioned.
Conditioned Responding
A learning process in which an individual develops a response to a previously neutral stimulus by associating it with another stimulus that already elicits a response.
