Distal Convoluted Tubule

A twisted section of the nephron in the kidney where the final adjustments in the composition of urine are made.

U-shaped part of the nephron extending from the proximal to the distal convoluted tubule and consisting of descending and ascending limbs. Some of the loops of Henle extend into the renal pyramids.

Micturition Reflex

A reflex involving the spinal cord and brain that controls the act of urination, or voiding the bladder.

Pelvic Nerves

Nerves located within the pelvic region, involved in controlling the bladder, bowel, and sexual functions.
