Tunneling: A 3.10-eV electron is incident on a 0.40-nm barrier that is 5.67 eV high. What is the probability that this electron will tunnel through the barrier? (1 eV = 1.60 × 10-19 J, mel = 9.11 × 10-31 kg, ħ = 1.055 × 10-34 J ∙ s, h = 6.626 × 10-34 J ∙ s)
Peak Torque
The maximum torque output of an engine or motor, representing the highest level of twisting force it can produce.
Stall RPM
The engine speed at which the torque converter or other coupling device can no longer transfer power to the drivetrain, causing the engine to stop or stall under load.
Cranking Motor RPM
The speed, measured in revolutions per minute, at which a starter motor turns the engine during the starting process.
Overrunning Clutch
A mechanical device allowing a shaft to turn in one direction freely but locks to prevent motion in the opposite direction, often used in starter motors.
