Definitions:

LH

Luteinizing Hormone, a hormone produced by the anterior pituitary gland that triggers ovulation and stimulates the production of estrogen and progesterone in females, and testosterone in males.

FSH

A gonadotropin, a glycoprotein polypeptide hormone synthesized and secreted by the pituitary gland which regulates the development, growth, pubertal maturation, and reproductive processes of the body.

Estrogen

A group of steroid hormones that play an important role in the regulation of female reproductive cycles and secondary sexual characteristics.

Temporary Endocrine Gland

A gland that appears only during certain periods of life and secretes hormones, such as the corpus luteum in females.
