The Answer is Muawiya I (602-680 CE) was a prominent figure in early Islamic history, known for being a member of the Umayyad clan and the founder of the Umayyad Caliphate. He served as the governor of Syria for two decades under the Rashidun Caliphs and later became the fifth Caliph after the first four rightly guided Caliphs, following the end of the First Islamic Civil War.

Muawiya's reign as Caliph marked the transition of the Islamic leadership from a form of elected monarchy to a hereditary dynasty, which lasted until the Abbasid Revolution in 750 CE. He is often credited with consolidating the administrative structure of the vast Islamic empire and establishing the dynastic system of succession. Muawiya's rule is sometimes controversial due to the circumstances surrounding his rise to power, which involved conflict with Ali ibn Abi Talib, the fourth Caliph and cousin and son-in-law of the Prophet Muhammad.
