The process by which the information in a strand of DNA is copied into a new molecule of messenger RNA (mRNA), initiating gene expression.
DNA Replication
The procedure through which a double-stranded DNA molecule duplicates, resulting in two identical DNA molecules.
Interphase
The phase of the cell cycle in which a cell spends most of its life, preparing for cell division by replicating its DNA and increasing in size.
