-totalitarian state
Untreated Population
A segment of the population that has not received a particular intervention, treatment, or exposure, used as a comparison group in studies and experiments.
Treatment Group
A group of subjects in an experimental study that receives the treatment or intervention being tested, as opposed to a control group that does not.
Placebo Group
A control group in an experiment that receives a sham or inert treatment, allowing researchers to measure the effect of the actual treatment against no treatment.
Significance Level
A threshold set by the researcher before an experiment to decide whether to reject the null hypothesis, typically denoted by alpha (α).
