The next step in the process is to determine what work activity (tasks and jobs) is needed to achieve the outputs or services. To achieve the work activity, what inputs such as the type of employees, equipment, and information are needed to perform the work activity to achieve the outputs/services. The same process is performed if the organization decides to alter the way a service is offered. For example, if electronic medical records will be implemented in this long-term care organization, the current workflow patterns are redesigned to accommodate the new technology.
