Definitions:

Schizophrenia

A long-term mental disorder involving a breakdown in the relation between thought, emotion, and behavior, leading to faulty perception, inappropriate actions, and feelings, withdrawal from reality and personal relationships into fantasy and delusion, and a sense of mental fragmentation.

Conventional Antipsychotic

A group of older antipsychotic drugs primarily used to treat symptoms of psychosis, such as those found in schizophrenia.

Extrapyramidal Side Effect

Unwanted movements or other physical disturbances caused by the use of certain medications, notably those used for psychiatric conditions.

Agranulocytosis

A life-threatening drop in white blood cells. This condition is sometimes produced by the second-generation antipsychotic drug clozapine.
