Document the following case using the correct respiratory system terms.
You are gathering a patient history on a new patient, who tells you that she was hospitalized 2 years ago for a collapsed lung. Her signs and symptoms included difficulty breathing; bloody sputum; and rapid, labored respirations; she also had to sit up to breathe comfortably. She says that the physician at the hospital told her she had a collection of air in the space surrounding her lung that also contained pus. She developed sharp pain each time she breathed and had to have chest surgery to repair the problem.
