She continues by saying,"It seems that differences are attributable to global variations due to the earth's axial rotation and solar revolution.However,some scientists disagree." Her lecture continues in this vein for 30 minutes,after which Ms.Chavez asks for questions,gives the homework assignment,and concludes the class.Ms.Chavez' seventh graders do not like her science class.They find the instruction difficult to understand.
-Suppose Ms.Chavez approached you for some advice for improving her direct instruction skills.What would you recommend she do and why? What if she also asked you for some guidance regarding whether or not she should include seat work in her lectures? Would you encourage her to incorporate seat work when she has completed her lecture?
