When she was five years old,the results of psychological tests revealed that Pauline had an IQ of 180.She began to read at the age of three,and by the time she was in kindergarten,she could solve complex addition and subtraction problems.So that she would not be bored,her teachers recommended that she skip first grade.Now she is in sixth grade,and she continues to excel as a writer and as a scientist.She has also become interested in environmental issues and,on weekends,does volunteer work for a local conservation group.At school,she started a recycling program and she is editor of the school newspaper.
