Definitions:

Neuroglial Cells

Neuroglial cells, or simply glia, are non-neuronal cells in the nervous system that provide support, protection, and nutrition to neurons, playing a crucial role in maintaining neuronal function.

PNS

Peripheral Nervous System, which includes all the nerves that lie outside the brain and spinal cord, responsible for connecting the CNS to the limbs and organs.

Microbial Infection

Invasion and multiplication of microorganisms in body tissues, causing disease or symptoms.

Microglia

Small neuroglial cells that become phagocytic and mobile in response to inflammation; considered to be macrophages within the central nervous system.
