Title VII

A segment from the 1964 Civil Rights Act banning job discrimination on the grounds of race, complexion, faith, gender, or nationality.

Sexual Harassment

Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature that makes submission a condition of employment or a factor in employment decisions or that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive work environment. The two types are hostile environment and quid pro quo.

Nonemployee

A nonemployee is an individual who performs work for a company or organization but is not classified as an employee, often without the same rights, benefits, or obligations.
