Economists make a distinction between changes in quantity demanded and changes in demand:
Anorexia Nervosa
A psychological and potentially life-threatening eating disorder characterized by self-starvation, an intense fear of gaining weight, and a distorted body image.
Restricting Type
A subtype of anorexia nervosa in which the afflicted person relies on a rigidly controlled, very low intake of food to maintain her low weight. About half of anorexia nervosa patients are of the restricting type.
