Capsule
The portion of the moss sporophyte that contains spores. A simple, dry, dehiscent fruit that develops from two or more fused carpels and opens along many sutures or pores to release seeds. A gelatinous coat that surrounds some bacteria.

Long strands of DNA wrapped around proteins, found in the nucleus of eukaryotic cells, containing genes that are passed from one generation to the next.

Densely packed form of DNA found in chromosomes, which is transcriptionally inactive and often associated with gene repression.
