Conditional Affection

Affection or emotional support shown towards someone that is dependent on specific conditions or behaviors they exhibit.

Reaction Formation

A defense mechanism where an unacceptable impulse is transformed into its opposite, often in behavior and attitudes.

Defense Mechanism
