Definitions:

Aerobic Respiration

A cellular process that uses oxygen to convert nutrients into energy.

Skeletal Muscles

These are muscles attached to bones that are responsible for voluntary movements and are characterized by a striated appearance.

Latch State

A phase in muscle contraction where the muscle remains tense without much energy consumption, commonly found in smooth muscle.

Smooth Muscle Contraction

The involuntary process by which smooth muscles found in the walls of internal organs contract and relax, controlled by the autonomic nervous system.
