The tourist industry, surrounding his home, is enormous. Fan clubs still exist. Stories frequently appear in the tabloids that he has been sighted alive; fans cannot let go.
Worldwide there are hundreds of men who make their livings by impersonating him (in white jumpsuits with flared bottoms). Recently the U.S. Postal Service conducted a survey to determine which of two photos of him should be memorialized on postage stamps. On the day of issue these stamps sold in the millions!
