Intersectionality Theory
Holds that the effects of socioeconomic position, race and ethnicity, and gender on health are multiplicative, not additive. For instance, being poor may cause people to experience X health deficits and being an Indigenous person may cause people to experience Y health deficits, but the effect on health of being poor and an Indigenous person is XY, not X + Y.
Health Care System
A structured organization designed to meet the health needs of individuals through various health care services.
Network
A group or system of interconnected people or things, often used to refer to computers, telecommunications, or social connections.
Clinics
Healthcare facilities that provide outpatient medical services, treatments, and advice, often focusing on specific areas of healthcare or to particular groups of patients.
