The Answer is The trauma of being in a war-torn country or in combat impacts the parents of the adult children who are directly affected by war in that these parents fear for their adult children's and grandchildren's safety and thus experience much anxiety. Those adults who are in combat or living in a country torn apart by war are likely to develop post-traumatic stress disorder with the accompanying symptoms of depression, anxiety, and difficulty managing emotions triggered by events experienced even after the war has ended and they are home. The children of those who lived through war may "absorb" their parents' fears and model the associated behaviors. These children may also experience abuse by their parents who have difficulty managing their behaviors and emotions.
