In this selection Rorty attacks the distinction between objectivity and subjectivity as well as the correspondence theory of truth. He sides with Thomas Kuhn in arguing that we can have no theory-independent notion of reality and proposes to erase the essential difference between science and the humanities and arts. Embracing the title of "the new fuzzies," Rorty proposes that a notion of social solidarity replace the enlightenment notion of objective truth.
