Definitions:

RAID 0

Also called disk striping without parity, a type of RAID that enables data to be alternatively written on two or more hard drives but be seen by the system as one logical drive. RAID level 0 does not protect data if a hard drive fails; it increases only system performance.

Data Access

The ability to retrieve, read, or make use of data stored within a database or another data storage mechanism.

Redundancy

The duplication of critical components or functions of a system with the intention of increasing reliability of the system, often through the inclusion of backup or fail-safe mechanisms.
