Definitions:

Disparate Treatment

Intentional Discrimination

Discriminatory actions taken with deliberateness and awareness towards an individual or group based on certain characteristics.

Disparate Impact

A form of discrimination that arises when an employer’s policy or practice appears to apply to everyone equally but its actual effect is that it disproportionately limits employment opportunities for a protected class.

At-Will Employment

At-will employment refers to an employment arrangement where either the employer or the employee can terminate the employment relationship at any time without providing a reason, subject to certain legal restrictions.
