The Answer is Common sense dictates that when students repeatedly get out of their seats without permission,the teacher should remind them to remain in their seats.The repeated reminders would help the overactive students remember the rule and show the rest of the class that the teacher is serious about the rule.Research on this particular behavior has shown that the more often a teacher tells a student to sit down when they are out of their seats,the more often the students got out of their seats without permission.When the teacher ignored students who were out of their seats and praised students who were sitting down,the rate of out-of-seat behavior dropped greatly.This was repeatedly shown to be the case,when the teacher returned to the previous system of telling students to sit down,the rate of out-of-seat behavior increased once again.
