Maria was recently promoted to the position of marketing manager at her company.It is rumored that the previous marketing manager left to avoid being fired by Linda,the company president.Maria,who had been a member of the advertising sales staff,was initially told that she was being given an opportunity to help bring the company back to profitability by writing and implementing a new marketing plan.But after three months in the new position,Maria was becoming very concerned.She had gone from working 8 hours a day as a staff member to working 13 hours a day and yet never feeling like she was caught up on work.In addition,her previously good relationship with Linda had deteriorated badly.It seemed that Linda was constantly criticizing Maria for overstepping the bounds of her authority.No matter what she did,Maria could not seem to please Linda.Maria's doctor has just diagnosed her with an ulcer.After discussing the situation with Maria,Linda proposed solving the problem by sending Maria to a workshop on relaxation techniques.
