$\alpha$ : $\beta$ TCRs are membrane-bound proteins comprised of two polypeptides linked by a disulfide bond. Both polypeptide components of the $\alpha$ : $\beta$ TCR are members of the immunoglobulin superfamily, and each of their domains share structural similarity with regions of antibody proteins.
