Granulosa

Cumulus Mass

A cluster of cells that surround an oocyte, or egg cell, providing it with nutrients and support during development.

Theca Interna

Inner vascular layer of the theca of the secondary and mature follicle; produces estrogen and contributes to the formation of the corpus luteum after ovulation.

Suspensory Ligament

Band of peritoneum that extends from the ovary to the body wall; contains the ovarian vessels and nerves. Small ligament attached to the margin of the lens in the eye and the ciliary body to hold the lens in place.
