Positive Displacement
A characteristic of a pump or motor that has its inlet positively sealed from its outlet so that no fluid can recirculate within the component; that is, what goes into the pump per cycle is what comes out per cycle.
Accumulators
Devices in hydraulic systems that store fluid under pressure, used to absorb shock or maintain pressure.
Potential Energy
The energy possessed by an object because of its position relative to others, stresses within itself, its electric charge, or other factors.
